Mobile Field Controller
Mobile Field Controller™
The Mobile Field Controller (MFC) is a laptop or ultra-mobile personal computer combined with a radio and battery pack. It is lightweight, has long battery-life, and is designed to wirelessly gather data from all nodes in the SensorPod™ System within its Line of Sight (LOS).

The MFC is equipped to run the PodCommander™ Software to allow for straightforward control of the SensorPod system combined with rapid collection of SensorPod data while in the field. ADSS has packaged the Li-Ion Battery pack and radio unit into one lightweight, easy-to-use module which is equipped for plug-and-play application with either a laptop or ultra-mobile PC. The MFC allows for full control of all SensorPod System hardware and software in a portable unit. The MFC can be used independently to collect data from any nodes within its Line of Sight (LOS), or in conjunction with SatPod™ Nodes, which only require LOS with the MFC to communicate data from all SensorPod Nodes. There are two configuration options available for the MFC unit, as shown below.

The specifications of each particular unit depend on the type of computer being used (laptop or UM-PC). The battery and radio module is extremely lightweight (weighing approximately X lbs), allowing for portable, field-deployable applications regardless of the computer used as part of the MFC system. The battery/radio module enables the MFC to operate for up to eight hours continuously before the Li-Ion battery needs recharging, significantly enhancing the battery life of the system while enabling radio and Line of Sight (LOS) communications.
